George
NJAH Mascot
George was hit by a car when he was only a few weeks old. He suffered numerous injuries, including a fractured jaw, orbital fractures, an ear laceration, and a proptosed eye. George didn't have an owner that we could find, but we nursed him back to health. Eventually, after some months when he had mostly recovered from his injuries , we found him a home with a delightful older woman. George lived with her very happily for about 5 years, until his owner's health began to fail. Her family, not sure of what to do, asked if we could find George another home. George did find another home: right here with us. He can usually be found sleeping in his basket on the front counter at the reception desk (as in the above picture). He sometimes scares people when he stands up or stretches, because they don't think he's real. He greets many pets in the waiting room (whether they want to be greeted or not). Be sure to meet George when you are here. We think you'll like him as much as we do.
